Mr. John Evans

Mr. John Evans started his teaching career in August of 2019 as the instructor for the Agricultural Power and Machinery program at the Tishomingo County Career and Technical Center. Previous to joining the TCCTC family, Mr. Evans worked for Caterpillar Reman for 23 years in various capacities, and in later years working with the onboarding team bringing in new employees to work for the company. Evans says then an opportunity came available to teach at TCCTC and he jumped at the chance.

Evans says. “After seeing people come into Caterpillar without the knowledge of some of the basic skills Cat needed in their employees, I felt it was important to get the word out about what Cat Reman and other like companies were looking for in an employee. I wanted to be able to help these men and women go to any facility like Caterpillar and them understand what skills they need in order to have a good career after high school.”

Mr. Evans received his Bachelor of Science in Business from Faulkner University. He also received an Associates degree in Business Administration from Northeast Mississippi Community College and an Associates degree in Automotive Technology from Itawamba Community College. Mr. Evans also attended the School of Automotive Machinists in Houston, Texas completing certification in block and cylinder head machining, engine assembly, and theory. While in Houston, he was a team crew member for T. Wade Welch Racing which ran a full time schedule with the Texas International Drivers Association.

Mr. Evans is married to Mrs. Jennie Evans who teaches at Tishomingo County High School and has three children: Jake, Annie, and Luke Evans.
